I have 10 years experience marketing Devon businesses, from family run enterprises to nationally known brands. The tools and techniques I use now are the things I wish I’d known 10 years ago.
Specialising in webdesign and e-marketing for the Hospitality Industry, I am drawing on my own experiences working within tourism businesses within Devon.
My roles have included being Sales and Marketing Manager for The Well Hung Meat Company, Marketing Manager for Dartington Hall – a Bed and Breakfast Hotel with 50 bedrooms, a Restaurant and a prestigious Weddings and Events Venue. I have also previously managed a 120 pitch family run campsite.
I know the world has gone Social Media crazy, and I definitely believe there is a place for it in the modern digital marketing mix. I can help you with this, and definitely encourage you to do it yourself if you are going to keep it up and have something to say. What I fully put my faith in though, is a good old fashioned e-newsletter; well preferably a modern e-newsletter that looks great on a mobile device as well as the big screen. They can give fantastic sales results, increase brand engagement and awareness. and are easily trackable.
There are some occasions when you need to call in the big guys – but for most day to day work, you are the expert at running your business.
From my experience, the people I work with want to know the face of the person who they are working with, a feeling closer to a colleague rather than a take the money and push for more or you’re forgotten.
What has 10 years taught me? Most importantly that it’s the personal touch that counts, not only with you the client, but on your behalf with your customers.
What my work needs to do for you, is amplify what you are already doing on a day to day basis. To create a digital window to the personal touch that you would give if you were dealing with a customer in person.
A bit like a mobile phone add – a few steps were removed in the below process! When I was first contacted about the possibility of creating a new website for the Dart Music Festival it was a... Read more
