Ed & Co Designs make bespoke curtains, roman blinds, lampshades, cushions and upholstery from a workroom in Plymouth. Penny Richings and her team work with private clients and interior designers, including projects well beyond Devon.

The site needed to show the work and the process clearly, and to offer a small shop without building a full ecommerce system. Ready-made pieces are already sold on Etsy. Duplicating checkout would have meant two places to manage stock.

What we delivered

  • Astro website for curtains, blinds, upholstery, lampshades and cushions
  • A custom Etsy product feed that lists current Etsy products on the site, with each one linking out to Etsy for the actual purchase
  • Room for the measuring and fitting service, trade terms, and a contact route that suits a workroom (they are often cutting fabric when the phone rings)

The live site is at edandcodesigns.co.uk. Made-to-measure work is still a conversation. The shop listings stay in step with Etsy, and payment stays on Etsy.

This is the sort of static build we describe in static websites: speed, editing and security. A full online shop would be Shopify or WooCommerce instead.
